Visa & Tarrif 2012All visitors to Bhutan require a visa other than Indian nationals.Visas are only issued to tourists booked with a local licensed tour operator. Visa has to be approved before arriving in Bhutan or prior to air ticketing. When you are confirmed about your travel with the local travel agent or operator in Bhutan then visa will be processed. Visa clearance takes at least 10 days to process and air tickets cannot be purchased without visa clearance. At your point of entry the visa will be stamped on your passport on payment of US$ 20, two passport photos will be also required. Inclusive Package Tours: Travellers visting to Bhutan is all-inclusive package tours for which the tariff is set by the Tourism Council of Bhutan. The government fixed tariff includes services of; accommodation, transport, guide, meals, entrances fees to monuments, sightseeing. Reservations: All tours must be booked through recognized Bhutanese Tour Operator such as Migae Adventure Travels and entire ground arrangements will be provided by us. Cultural Tours: For all cultural tours the booking must be completed in 3 weeks in advance but for tours during festivals, 7 weeks advance information is required. Festivals held in autumn and spring are peak time for the tourists and without early reservations it can be difficult to confirm flights and hotels. Trekking groups: It is important to do bookings at least 8 weeks in advance as it requires plenty of planning. Daily Tariff The tariffs for tourist visiting in a group of three persons or more are as follows: HighSeason– US$ 250 per person per night (March,April,May,August,September,October & November December) Low Season –US$ 200 per person per night (January,February,June,July) Surcharges : Individual tourist and smaller groups of less than three person shall be subject to surcharge, over and above the minimum daily rates applicable, as follows:
Single US$ 40 per night The above tarriff includes *All internal taxes and charges(including the royalty) *Accomodation *All meals *All travel with a licensed Bhutanese tour guide *All internal transport *Camping Equipments and haulage for treking tours. The above mentioned selling prices apllied to groups of three or more. DISCOUNTS 1. DIPLOMATS from foreign embassies, missions accredited to Bhutan shall be given a 25% discount on the daily rates. 2. Children up to 5 years of age there shall be no charge. Those between the ages of 6-12 years accompanied by elders, guardians shall be given 50% discount on daily rates. 3. Full time students below the age of 25 years holding valid identity cards from their academic institutions shall be given a 25% discount on daily rates. 4. 50% discount on daily rates shall be given to one person in a group of 11-15 people. 100% discount shall be given one member in a group exceeding to 26 persons. 5. A discount of 10% on the daily rates shall be provide for halts between 11-20 nights and 20% discount on halts beyond 21 nights. 6. Visitors availing discounts under section 1, 2, 3 shall not be eligible for discount under 5. 7. All detailed information Druk Air flights, tours and trekking programmes, festivals, places of interest, hotels etc can be obtained from us. CANCELLATION
Any tour programmes booked and subsequently cancelled shall be subject to cancellation charges as follows: DELAY ARRIVAL There are no charges for delays in arrival and departure because of weather conditions disrupting flights or road blocks. The tourist must however bear the cost of food, accommodation, transportation, and other services required. WHAT TO BRING? As Druk-Air limits your luggage to 20 kg (44 lbs or 30 kg or 66 lbs in business class).You should try and keep to this allowance. Even when you are willing to bring extra baggage sometimes your extra luggage will be in stand by and maybe offloaded for the next flight. It is advisable that you carry fewer luggages. One small suitcase and one small hand bag will be best to carry along as there is not much space on the over head storage in the air cabin.Comfortable clothing or casual wear, semi-formal dress and during festival you should carry a set of dress clothing.Summers are cool in Bhutan and it is very cold in Winter. During the day it is quite warm especially in the lowlands of Punakha, Wangdue, Trongsa.
